Be

How many of us have ‘searched’ for our souls? Aren’t we taught that the soul resides in the body? Then why go wandering around searching for it?

I just fininshed reading a book called ‘why is God laughing?’ and my mother (who is quite religious) saw me reading it and got upset at the title, claiming that we as ‘muslims’ shouldn’t even imagine such a thing. I told her it was just a title and the author doesn’t mean it to be offensive, on the contarary he portrays God in the most beautiful manner and the book is amazing.

The book follows the story of a man named Mickey Fellows who is going through the ‘process’ which rids him of fear hence making him fearless (by portraying the real nature of fear) and strips him of the ‘ego’ by showing us how we ‘identify’ ourselves with it and finally curing his addiction(to himself) All this through laughter and to attain ineffable joy.

It’s quite remarkable as to how much I identified with the pre process Mickey, although in the ‘real’ world we have absouletly nothing in common but we shared quite a few traits on the soul level.
One thing I’ve learnt without a doubt is that God is everywhere. We don’t need to go searching or him.

Got a bit of ‘being’ to do 😉 until then,
Stay blessed
